Wilkens Medical Group is celebrating over 30 years of service to Jellico.  We consider it a privilege to have been able to provide primary, preventive, and surgical care to Campbell and Whitley counties. 

MEET OUR DOCTORS:

Dr. Charles Wilkens, M.D. PC – family practice

“Doc” has made his mark on this community through his consistent, dedicated  commitment to providing health care for over 30 years.  Prior to opening his practice here in Jellico, Dr. Wilkens served as a missionary doctor in Jamaica, and as a Surgical Resident at Orange Memorial Hospital in Orlando, FL.  He graduated from Loma Linda University in 1965.  Known for his unassuming and caring ways, not many people know that Dr. Wilkens was awarded Outstanding Practitioner of the Year (2004) by the Tennessee Primary Care Association.  He also received the Adventist Health System Community Service Award in 2004.

Dr. Greg Wilkens, M.D. – General Surgery

Dr. Greg is an experienced, board-certified surgeon specializing in advanced laparoscopic alternatives, including colon, hernia repair, endocrine system and other diagnostic procedures.  He also offers state-of-the-art sentinel node and breast conservation, as well as a full range of operative solutions for gastro esophageal reflux disease.  Dr. Greg graduated from Loma Linda University in 1994.  Prior to joining our practice, Dr Greg served as flight surgeon at Hunter Army Air Field in Savannah, GA, and more recently as a surgical resident at Christiana Health Care in Newark, DE.

Dr. Todd Wilkens, M.D., F.A.C.S. – Vascular Surgery

Dr. Todd is an experienced, board-certified surgeon specializing in a full range of procedures, including angioplasty, stinting, peripheral arteries, minimally invasive procedures and comprehensive open vascular procedures.  Dr. Todd graduated from Loma Linda University in 1993.  Prior to joining our staff he served as the staff general surgeon at Ft. Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital in Missouri.

Dr. Darryl Wilkens, M.D. – Family Practice

Dr. Darryl is an experienced, board-certified family medicine physician specializing in total health care of the individual and family.  Dr Darryl is dedicated to preventative care, but also diagnoses and treats a variety of health conditions and diseases for people of all ages and both sexes.  Dr. Darryl graduated from Loma Linda University in 1996.  Prior to joining our staff he served as a Family Practice Resident at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN.

Joe Reed, P.A.-C – Family Practice

A native of Jellico, Joe earned is bachelor's degree and Physician's Assistant-Certified (2001) through the University of Kentucky and his Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies (2006) through the University of Nebraska.  He joined Wilkens Medical Group in 2001 where he is a primary care provider.
